Arrival Day 1

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), our Ways African Safaris representative will warmly welcome you. You will then be chauffeured to your lodging in Arusha. Your overnight stay will be at Mount Meru Hotel or Tulia Hotel, preparing you for the exciting safari adventure awaiting you the next day.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Following a hearty breakfast, we set out for Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River that traverses its expanse. Known as the “river of warthogs,” this waterway becomes the lifeline for wildlife during the dry season. Tarangire boasts diverse vegetation, from elephant grass to acacia woodlands, creating a picturesque landscape. The park is renowned for its elephant herds, often found congregating along the riverbanks. Additionally, sightings of giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests are common, accompanied by vigilant predators such as lions and leopards.

Tarangire National Park hosts an unparalleled array of breeding bird species, making it a haven for bird enthusiasts. Witnessing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, from playful calves to imposing bulls, is an unforgettable experience.

After indulging in a delightful lunch, we proceed to the Ngorongoro Highlands for dinner and overnight accommodations at Eileen’s Trees Inn.

Day 3

Explore Serengeti National Park

Kick-starting the day with an early breakfast, we embark on a journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to the iconic Serengeti National Park. As we traverse, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife sightings along the way, enhancing the thrill of the adventure.

Serengeti National Park stands as a symbol of unparalleled natural beauty and scientific significance. Renowned for its vast plains teeming with wildlife, it hosts the highest concentration of plains game in Africa. However, it’s the legendary migration that truly defines Serengeti’s allure. Witness the breathtaking spectacle as over a million wildebeests and approximately 200,000 zebras undertake their seasonal journey, braving obstacles like rivers and predators with unwavering determination.

Arriving at Serengeti Heritage Luxury Tented Camp in the late afternoon, you’ll settle in for a sumptuous dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by the enchanting ambiance of the Serengeti.

Day 4

Serengeti Western Corridor Expedition

Following a delightful breakfast, we embark on a journey towards the captivating Western Corridor of the Serengeti. The scenic drive spans approximately 1.5 hours, immersing you in the raw beauty of the landscape.

As we approach the end of April, May, and June, the Western Corridor becomes a bustling hub for an impressive array of wildlife. Witness the mesmerizing sight of vast herds of wildebeests accompanied by zebras, elands, and gazelles, congregating south of the Grumeti River. This spectacle is a testament to the wonders of nature, where the cycle of life unfolds before your eyes.

Venture deeper into the wilderness and keep a lookout for elusive leopards and cunning hyenas, while the presence of colossal Nile crocodiles adds an element of excitement to the experience. Witnessing the annual river crossings, where hundreds of animals brave the treacherous waters, is a humbling reminder of the relentless struggle for survival in the wild.

Day 5

Western Serengeti National Park Exploration

Following a hearty breakfast, our exploration of the captivating Western Corridor of the Serengeti continues. Depending on rainfall patterns, this region is often graced by the presence of the renowned wildebeest migration, adding a dynamic element to our adventure.

Embark on a morning game drive, immersing yourself in the mesmerizing wilderness as you seek out the diverse wildlife that inhabits this area. Upon returning to your accommodation, indulge in a satisfying hot lunch, rejuvenating yourself for the afternoon activities.

As the sun begins its descent, embark on another exhilarating game drive, allowing you to witness the magical sunset casting its golden hues over the Western Serengeti. Conclude the day with a delightful dinner and a tranquil overnight stay amidst the serene ambiance of the Western Corridor.

Day 6

Central Serengeti National Park Exploration

Dedicate the entire day to immersive game drives across the vast expanse of the Serengeti. Renowned for its rich biodiversity, this iconic national park is home to an abundance of wildlife, including impalas, buffalos, crocodiles, and hippos. However, it is the legendary migrating herds of zebras, antelopes, and wildebeests that truly steal the spotlight.

The movements of these magnificent creatures are dictated by the seasonal rainfall, resulting in a dynamic and ever-changing spectacle. In November and December, they migrate from the northern woodlands and hills to the southern grassy plains, while they return to the north during the longer rainy season from April to June.

In addition to witnessing the grand migration, we have the opportunity to encounter the resident predators of the Serengeti, including leopards, cheetahs, and lions, as they fulfill their vital roles in the circle of life.

After an exhilarating day of exploration, we retire to our tented lodge, Embalakai Serengeti Camp, where a hearty dinner awaits. Gather around the fire for relaxation and engaging conversations under the mesmerizing African night sky, embracing the serenity of the “Endless Plain.”

Day 7

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Expedition

Following a satisfying breakfast, we embark on an en route game drive through the Serengeti, providing ample opportunities to spot the renowned “Big Five” – lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, and leopards. As we traverse the Serengeti’s diverse landscapes, keep your camera ready for unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Our journey then leads us to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site formed millions of years ago. This natural wonder, with its remarkable depth of 600 meters and expansive area of approximately 260 square kilometers, boasts an astonishingly dense animal population of around 25,000, offering unparalleled game viewing opportunities.

Upon reaching the crater rim before lunchtime, we descend into the crater, where an extraordinary spectacle unfolds before our eyes. Witness herds of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and a myriad of bird species thriving in this unique ecosystem. With luck on our side, we may even catch a glimpse of the elusive black rhino as it gracefully navigates through the grasslands.

After indulging in a delicious lunch and immersing ourselves in a full afternoon of exploration within the crater, we retire to our accommodation for a well-deserved dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8

Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha Journey

Following a delightful breakfast, we embark on the final leg of our unforgettable safari adventure, heading towards Lake Manyara National Park. Situated approximately 120 kilometers west of Arusha, this compact yet diverse park is named after the shallow salt lake that dominates much of its landscape. The ever-changing lake, inundated and dried by seasonal fluctuations, serves as a sanctuary for thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.

Our exploration of the park promises an array of wildlife sightings, including monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, elephants, and if luck favors us, lions lounging in the trees. Lake Manyara National Park’s diverse landscapes encompass open grassy plains, woodland areas teeming with primates, and majestic cliffs adorned with baobab trees.

After another exhilarating game drive filled with memorable encounters, we bid farewell to the African wilderness as we make our way back to Arusha in the late afternoon. Reflecting on the countless images and experiences garnered throughout our safari, we carry with us lasting memories of the untamed beauty of Africa.

Day 9

Departure

Today marks the conclusion of your remarkable safari experience. Enjoy a relaxing morning at your hotel, savoring the memories of your adventure amidst the African wilderness.

As per hotel policy, check-out is scheduled for 11:00 AM. If you have an evening flight and require a late check-out, arrangements can be made for an extension until 6:00 PM, subject to an additional fee.

Following your check-out, our team will assist with your transfer to the airport, ensuring a seamless departure from Arusha.
