Day to Day Itinerary

Arrival Day

Arrival in Kilimanjaro Airport

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our team will greet you and facilitate your transfer to your designated hotel in Arusha town. Here, you will have the opportunity to meet your guide who will provide a detailed briefing about your upcoming trek. An equipment check will be conducted to ensure you have all the essential mountain gear for a successful climb. In case any gear is missing, arrangements can be made to rent the necessary equipment on this day. Get ready to embark on this exciting adventure with a comprehensive overview and preparation for the journey ahead.

Day 1

Arusha – Miriakamba Hut

Duration: 5-7 hours of hiking

Commence your exhilarating journey with an early morning breakfast at your hotel in Moshi/Arusha. Following breakfast, our team will pick you up and transport you to the Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. Upon arrival, our porters will efficiently organize and pack the necessary belongings for the hike.

While you and your guide register with the Tanzania National Park (TANAPA), the porters finalize the preparations. The initial leg of your ascent in Arusha National Park resembles a walking safari, offering the opportunity to encounter giraffes, zebras, antelope, buffalo, and potentially elephants along the trail. To ensure your safety and enhance the wildlife experience, an armed ranger, arranged through the National Park, will accompany our team throughout the hike.

Continuing the hike, you’ll traverse the Ngarenanyuki River and be treated to the sight of a magnificent waterfall at the base of Mt. Meru. Upon reaching Miriakamba Hut (2500m), our chef will skillfully prepare a hot dinner, providing essential nourishment for the journey. As the sun sets, immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery and anticipate a restful overnight stay at Miriakamba Hut.

Day 2

Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut

Duration: 3-5 hours of hiking

Begin the day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on the next leg of your journey. The trail leads you on an ascent up the steep trail along the ridge of the saddle, offering glimpses of various wildlife along the way. The path unfolds with panoramic views of Mt. Meru Crater and the Ash Tray, providing a picturesque backdrop to your hike.

Upon reaching Saddle Hut, you’ll have the option to further acclimate by hiking to Little Mt. Meru (3820m) with your guide. This additional trek enhances your adjustment to the altitude. An early dinner will be served, allowing ample time for rest before the midnight summit attempt. To ensure a well-rested night, retire by 19:00, preparing for the thrilling summit challenge that awaits you.

Day 3

Saddle Hut – Summit Attempt – Miriakamba Hut

Duration: 10-12 hours of hiking

Your day begins with an early wake-up call at 00:30, accompanied by a refreshing serving of tea and biscuits. The summit attempt kicks off at 1:30 am, starting with a steep climb to Rhino Point (3800m) and progressing to Cobra Point (4350m). The final hour of the hike involves scrambling along a rocky ridge nestled between the crater and the inner cliffs of Meru.

As you ascend, the landscape transforms, providing a unique perspective of the surroundings. The ultimate reward comes at sunrise when you reach the summit of Meru (4565m), offering breathtaking views of Mt. Meru’s Ash Tray and the majestic silhouette of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Take your time to absorb the panoramic scenery before commencing the descent to Saddle Hut for a well-deserved short break.

The journey continues with a descent to Miriakamba Hut (2500m), where dinner awaits, providing nourishment after the challenging summit. Enjoy a restful overnight stay as you reflect on the accomplishment of reaching the summit of Mt. Meru.

Day 4

Miriakamba Hut – Arusha

Duration: 2-3 hours of hiking

Following a well-deserved rest and a nourishing breakfast, embark on the final leg of your journey with the descent to Momella Gate. The trail winds through forests and meadows, offering the possibility of spotting wildlife along the way. Descending from the base of Mt. Meru, you’ll be warmly greeted by our driver at Momella Gate.

The driver will then transport you back to your hotel in Arusha/Moshi, marking the conclusion of your memorable Mt. Meru climbing adventure. Reflect on the achievements and unforgettable moments as you return to the comfort of your accommodation.

Day 5

ARUSHA – LAKE MANYARA PARK

Meet our professional tour guide/driver in Arusha/Moshi for a brief safari overview. Embark on a journey to the enchanting Lake Manyara National Park. Renowned for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, and vibrant troops of baboons, Lake Manyara is a gem of a park despite its compact size. The park’s lush green jungle habitat creates a serene atmosphere and offers a unique contrast to the landscapes of other parks on your safari adventure.

Descending into the heart of wild Africa, the Serengeti unfolds its endless plains, stretching as far as the eye can see. The Seronera area, nestled along the Seronera River, is recognized as one of the most abundant wildlife habitats in the park.

This region is a haven for diverse wildlife species, drawn to the precious water source provided by the Seronera River. The Serengeti’s iconic great wildebeest migration can be witnessed in the central Serengeti, adding a spectacular dimension to your safari experience. FULL DAY IN SERENGETI PARK

Day 8

SERENGETI PARK – NGORONGORO CRATER

After a delightful breakfast, set out on a scenic drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon registration, embark on a descent to the extraordinary Ngorongoro Crater floor. The journey down the crater walls offers breathtaking views, and once on the crater floor, prepare for an extensive day of game drives in this remarkable natural wonder, often referred to as the Eden of Africa.

The Ngorongoro Crater, often considered the 8th wonder of the world, provides a unique ecosystem and an opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife. With a bit of luck, you may even have the chance to witness the Big 5—Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, and Rhinos—all in a single day’s game drive. Day 9

TARANGIRE PARK – ARUSHA

Begin your day with a delightful breakfast before heading to the Tarangire Park gate, where you will register and commence a full day of game drives, immersing yourself in the captivating African wilderness. Tarangire Park is celebrated for its vast elephant populations and ancient baobab trees, creating a mesmerizing backdrop for your final day of safari exploration. Beyond the iconic elephants and baobabs, the park is home to a diverse array of animals and birds, including lions, cheetahs, warthogs, gazelles, dik-diks, and the rare long-necked gerenuks.

As the afternoon unfolds, return to your hotel in Arusha/Moshi, marking the conclusion of your remarkable safari adventure.
