Day 1

Arrival in Uganda. Drive to Kibale Forest national par

Begin your Ugandan adventure by arriving at Entebbe Airport in the morning. Following the completion of immigration formalities, your guide will warmly welcome you outside the airport. After an early lunch, embark on a scenic 6-hour journey to Kibale Forest National Park, immersing yourself in the lush green countryside with occasional rough road surfaces.

As you traverse this picturesque route, be captivated by the breathtaking views of tea plantations. Feel free to make stops along the way for memorable photo opportunities and engaging interactions with the local tea pickers. Your day concludes with a check-in at your chosen accommodation near Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 2

Chimpanzee trekking. Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure within Kibale Forest National Park. Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, you’ll delve into the lush forest, gaining insights into the diverse fauna and flora of the area. The tracking experience, lasting approximately 3 hours, allows you to observe and photograph these incredible primates in their natural habitat.

Following the chimpanzee encounter, return to the lodge for lunch, and then proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey unfolds along the picturesque Ruwenzori Mountain ranges, offering breathtaking views. Upon entering the park, consider opting for an evening game drive to catch glimpses of antelopes, elephants, buffaloes, and, if luck is on your side, even lions.

Day 3

Experiential predator tracking and afternoon boat ride

During the game drive, keep an eye out for other fascinating species such as leopards, giant forest hogs, Cape buffaloes, elephants, defassa waterbucks, Uganda kobos, topis, and bushbucks.

Day 4

Drive to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector Queen Elizabeth

Following a delightful breakfast, venture to the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park for a game drive, specifically in search of the renowned tree-climbing lions and the impressive herds of game. A knowledgeable ranger guide will accompany you, aiding in tracking the whereabouts of these fascinating big cats.

Post-game drive, embark on a scenic drive through the picturesque “Switzerland of Africa,” known as the Kigezi Highlands. Marvel at the terraced hillside landscapes and winding roads as you make your way to Bwindi. Your accommodation, set against the backdrop of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – home to the majestic Mountain Gorillas in Uganda – awaits.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, situated in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley, boasts mist-covered hillsides and one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests. This ancient forest, with roots dating back over 25,000 years, is home to nearly 400 plant species. Notably, it shelters over 400 mountain gorillas, approximately half of the global population, along with various primate species, elephants, antelopes, and a rich avian community of around 350 bird species, including 23 Albertine Rift endemics. Recognized for its ecological significance, Bwindi was declared a UNESCO Natural World Heritage site in 1994.

Day 5

Start your day with an early breakfast before being transferred to the park headquarters. Here, you will receive a comprehensive briefing and be grouped for the highly anticipated Gorilla trekking expedition. Accompanied by experienced ranger guides and guards, set off into the mist-shrouded and tangled forests, with trackers assisting in locating the gorillas by identifying their nests from the previous night.

The journey to find these majestic animals leads you through dense, untamed rainforest, and while it may be challenging at times, the encounter is undoubtedly worth the effort. Gorilla tracking duration varies, taking on average 3 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the animals. Once located, spend an unforgettable hour observing, photographing, and immersing yourself in the world of the gorillas as they feed, play, and groom each other.

The experienced ranger guides will generously share insights into the history and lifestyle of the gorillas, making this encounter a truly enriching experience. After the trek, exit Bwindi Forest and return to your accommodation to rest.

Continue your journey with an evening game drive as you enter the park, offering the opportunity to marvel at the beauty of the surroundings.

Drive along the lake and stand a chance to encounter herds of zebra, Cape buffalo, and eland. Lake Mburo is a haven for birdwatchers, boasting around 250 bird species, including Papyrus Gonolek, Brown-faced Lapwing, Carruther’s Cisticola, and White-winged Warbler.
