How to Get There

This safari requires a morning flight from Zanzibar to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, your safari adventure begins immediately.

If you’re arriving in Zanzibar early in the morning, we can arrange your transfer to catch a domestic flight to Arusha. You’ll also need a return flight from Kilimanjaro Airport to Zanzibar in the evening (departure from 7 PM onwards is recommended).

2 Days Tanzania Lodge Safari Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Zanzibar – Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Your adventure begins with an early morning transfer to Zanzibar Domestic Airport for a flight to Arusha. Upon arrival at Arusha Airport, your private safari guide will meet you and escort you to a 4×4 safari land cruiser to commence your journey to Tarangire National Park.

In just two hours, you’ll arrive at the park’s gate, where registration will be completed, and your first game drive will begin. Explore the expansive plains of Tarangire, with a focus on wildlife congregating near the Tarangire River, a vital water source in the park. Expect to see large herds of elephants, as well as zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, cheetahs, and gazelles. The park’s signature baobab trees provide a stunning backdrop to your wildlife encounters.

In the late afternoon, you’ll proceed to Karatu, where you’ll check in at Marera Valley Lodge or Country Lodge Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay. Meals included: Lunch and Dinner.

Day 2

Ngorongoro Crater – Kilimanjaro – Zanzibar

Rise early to maximize your chances of spotting rare wildlife, such as Black Rhinos returning from nocturnal grazing, and observe predators like lions and leopards in their active morning hours. From Karatu, your journey continues to the Loduare Gate, the entrance to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

After a brief stop at the Crater Viewpoint, marveling at the breathtaking panoramic views, you’ll descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unbroken volcanic caldera in the world. The Crater is a natural sanctuary for over 30,000 animals, including the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards. You’ll also encounter zebras, jackals, hyenas, elands, and more in this diverse ecosystem.

Following a fulfilling morning of game drives, you’ll return to Arusha, then proceed to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your evening flight back to Zanzibar. On arrival, you can arrange a transfer to your hotel, marking the end of your incredible safari adventure. Meals included: Breakfast and Lunch.
