The park staff provides information on trekking times and conditions based on the groups’ locations the previous evening. With a total of 88 gorilla permits available each day and a maximum of eight trekkers per group, the adventure awaits.

Once grouped, your Lead Guide briefs you on trekking procedures and essential “do’s and don’ts” in the presence of gorillas. Following the briefing, return to your respective vehicles for a drive up the mountain to the trek’s starting point.

Gorilla trekking durations vary, ranging from 2 to 6 hours or more, depending on the gorillas’ movement. Guides make regular stops to allow trekkers to rest and capture memorable photos. After the trek, reunite with your driver guide for a transfer back to the lodge, where a well-deserved lunch awaits.

Post-lunch, bid farewell to the foothills of the volcanoes and embark on a scenic drive south to Kigali. Traverse landscapes adorned with coffee, tea, and banana plantations, revealing Rwanda’s breathtaking greenery.
