They assess your fitness level and provide information about trekking times and conditions for various groups based on their location in the park the previous evening. With a maximum of eight trekkers per group and a total of 88 gorilla permits available each day, the experience promises exclusivity.

Once sorted into groups, the Lead Guide briefs trekkers on the procedures and essential “do’s and don’ts” in the presence of gorillas. Following the briefing, trekkers return to their vehicles for a drive up the mountain to the trekking starting point. The trek itself can range from 2 to 6 or more hours, depending on the gorillas’ movement. Guides make regular stops, allowing trekkers to rest and capture photos along the way.

After the trek, reunite with your driver guide for a transfer back to the lodge, where a well-deserved lunch awaits.

Post-lunch, bid farewell to the foothills of the volcanoes and embark on a southward drive to Kigali. Traverse scenic landscapes adorned with coffee, tea, and banana plantations, immersing yourself in the sheer greenery that defines Rwanda—a land of a thousand fertile green hills.
