The trek kicks off on day one with a 5-hour expedition through the enchanting rainforest at Kilimanjaro’s base, leading to the Machame Camp. Progressing on the second day, traverse through increasingly sparse vegetation into moorlands, culminating at Shira Camp. Day three’s trek aids acclimatization, ascending to the Lava Tower (15,000 feet / 4600m) before descending to the Barranco Valley campsite.
