Day 1

Drive from Arusha to Marangu Gate

Embark on your adventure by driving to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate after breakfast. Register and begin your trek, meandering through the enchanting rainforest towards the Mandara Huts. For a captivating view of the surroundings, including Northern Tanzania and Kenya, take a side trip to Maundi Crater. Keep an eye out for majestic Eucalyptus trees, diverse birdlife, and playful Colobus monkeys along the way.

Day 2

Hike Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

On the second day of your Kilimanjaro Tour Package, depart from the rainforest glades and ascend through the open moorlands en route to the Horombo Huts. Marvel at breathtaking views of Mawenzi and the summit of Kibo throughout the journey. Keep an eye out for impressive giant lobelias and groundsel plants. As you ascend, be mindful of the altitude, as you may start to feel its effects.

Day 3

Rest Day at Horombo Hut

Take a well-deserved rest day at Horombo Hut, where you can recharge and acclimatize. Optionally, consider a trek up to Mawenzi Peak for those seeking an extra adventure and panoramic views.

Day 4

Hike Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

As we ascend, we leave behind the final watering point and traverse the saddle of Kilimanjaro nestled between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. The landscape transitions from upper heath-land to a surreal moonscape. After reaching Kibo Hut, enjoy a hearty dinner, rest, and prepare for the upcoming summit climb.

Day 5

Hike Kibo Hut to Horombo Hut

In the early hours of the morning (between midnight and 2 am), embark on the challenging ascent to the summit, navigating steep scree or snow up to Gilman’s Point on the crater rim. Press on to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, with breathtaking views at every turn. Capture the moment with a summit photo to share with friends and family. Descend from the peak, taking a break for lunch and rest at Kibo before continuing the journey to the Horombo Huts. The initial part of the climb is in darkness, requiring headlamps or flashlights, and the descent brings relief from the cold temperatures. Ensure you have all your warm layers for this memorable experience.

Day 6

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

Embark on your final descent from the mountain, starting with a steady trek through moorland to reach the Mandara Hut. Continue the descent, traversing a lush forest path that may be wet and muddy. Equip yourself with gaiters and trekking poles for added support. Shorts and t-shirts will likely suffice for the descent. Upon reaching the National Park gate at Marangu, our driver guide will be ready to pick you up and transfer you back to your hotel in Arusha, marking the conclusion of your Kilimanjaro tour package.

Day 7

Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Embark on the next phase of your Kilimanjaro Safari Zanzibar adventure after indulging in a delectable breakfast. Situated at the heart of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park boasts remarkable landscapes. The park is home to a rich array of wildlife, including buffalo, elephants, giraffes, impalas, and hippos. Diverse habitats, such as the lush rainforest, the alkaline waters of the lake, and the bush veld, contribute to the park’s highly varied ecosystem.

Day 8

Safari: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

Our journey will then take us to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s original and most visited game reserve. Renowned for its annual wildebeest migration and vast wildlife population, the Serengeti promises an extraordinary safari experience. Enjoy a picnic lunch on one of the kopjes (rock outcroppings) as we continue to explore the park. The availability of wildlife may be influenced by the migration of herds and the time of year, but you can anticipate encounters with wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, various antelopes, and a diverse array of birds and other species.

Day 9

Safari: Full Day Serengeti National Park

Embark on an exhilarating early morning game drive across the expansive plains of the Serengeti. The savannah comes alive with predator activity during these early hours, offering the possibility of witnessing a pack of lions devouring the last remnants of their kill while vultures circle overhead. The shadows of the trees are bathed in vibrant colors as the brilliant orange hues spill out from the rising sun on the horizon. Indulge in a delectable picnic lunch served amidst the thrilling wildlife encounters during the game drive.

Day 10

Safari: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Conclude our Serengeti adventure with another captivating morning game drive before we head to Ngorongoro Crater. Spend the night at the rim of the crater, where you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view into the caldera and a mesmerizing sunset.

Day 11

Safari: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

Embark on an early departure to ensure a timely arrival at the Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as ‘Africa’s Garden of Eden.’ This unique ecosystem features dense vegetation and an exceptionally high concentration of wildlife against a backdrop of picturesque scenery. The crater’s elevated structure discourages animals from migrating in and out, increasing the likelihood of spotting every member of ‘The Big 5’—buffalo, lions, rhinos, elephants, and leopards. Alongside these iconic species, anticipate sightings of other wildlife such as zebra, antelopes, jackals, flamingos, hippos, and wildebeest. A delightful picnic lunch will be served during the game drive. Following our lunch, we depart for Arusha for an overnight stay.

Day 12

Arusha - Zanzibar: Kendwa

Following breakfast, you will depart for Kilimanjaro Airport, where you will catch a flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, a driver will be waiting to transport you from the airport to Kendwa, where Zanzibar’s finest beaches await you.

Day 13/14/15

Zanzibar: Kendwa Beach

Encountering a utopian beach is a rare and enchanting experience. The sea gently ebbs, exuding a tranquil ambiance in its sapphire expanse. The soft, white sand feels like it’s adorned in wispy candy floss, and in the distance, streams of pulsating light cast a golden haze over the surface. Relax and savor the idyllic beaches of Zanzibar while the soothing sounds of the calm ocean linger. Engage in a myriad of water activities, including snorkeling, scuba diving, and boat trips, adding to the allure of your Zanzibar beach retreat.

Day 16 /17

Zanzibar: Spice Tour & Zanzibar Town

Our journey takes us to Stone Town, and for those who have opted for the renowned Spice Tour (optional – not included), an intriguing detour awaits. Our specialized Spice Tour goes beyond just exploring spices; it delves into the world of organically grown herbs, revealing their uses in homeopathic medicine, cosmetics, and cooking. You’ll return home with not just memories but also a wealth of knowledge. Following the tour, indulge in an extravagant lunch where you can savor the flavorsome spices and exotic fruits in traditional dishes.

In the afternoon, for those interested (optional – not included), we embark on our Historical Stone Town Tour. This immersive experience transports you through years of history in this extraordinary town, visiting iconic landmarks such as the House of Wonders, the Arab Fort, the Palace Museum (People’s Palace), and other monumental sites. The bustling market captures the true essence of life in Zanzibar—meander through winding passages, sample more exotic cuisine, and admire the intricately engraved, studded doors that tell stories of the town’s rich history.
