During the small rainy season in October and November, these herds typically migrate from the Kenyan Masai Mara through the northwest of the Serengeti to the southern plains. Conversely, after the great rainy season in April, May, and June, the herds gradually travel back through the western and north-western part of the Serengeti. Keep in mind that fluctuations in rainfall can impact this schedule, leading to variations in migration times and routes.

Your experienced guide will make every effort to locate the herds, ensuring you have the best vantage point in the national park. If your travel dates fall between January and mid-March, your stay will be at the Ndutu Kati Kati Tented Camp, located closer to the border of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the Ndutu Area. This strategic location increases the chances of encountering the famous migration, as the herds can be on either the Serengeti or Ngorongoro side during this period.

Embark on an early morning journey from the Serengeti back to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area after a daybreak breakfast, bidding farewell to the captivating Seronera Valley.
